The HR XVC14B DVD/VCR offers enhanced features designed to accommodate the growing number of video sources. In addition, this tuner-free model offers a quick and easy solution for recording TV programs by connecting to a cable or satellite set-top box using an AV cable. The user selects the desired program using the set-top box electronic program guide and timer function. JVC's new Timer Link feature senses the signal, automatically powers up and begins recording. Recording automatically stops and the recorder shuts off when the set-top box turns off. JVC research shows that the vast majority of set-top boxes come equipped with a timer.

The HR XVC14B also offers unique capabilities for enjoying movies, music and images. Along with DVD playback, including both DVD-R/RW and DVD+R/RW discs, the HR XVC14B is also capable of playing CD, CD-R, CD-RW discs and JPEG file discs. Easy disc access is provided from JVC's exclusive navigational interface. In addition, the HR XVC14B provides multichannel Dolby Digital, DTS and 3D Surround Sound audio playback.
